Echinacea

Echinacea is a genus of flowering plants known for its immune-modulating properties, often used in herbal medicine to support the body’s defense mechanisms. In supplements, it’s most commonly derived from Echinacea purpurea and Echinacea angustifolia.

For physically active individuals, echinacea may help reduce the incidence and duration of upper respiratory infections, which can be more common under intense training regimes. Some research also explores its role in reducing inflammation and improving recovery.

Its active compounds, such as alkamides and polysaccharides, are believed to stimulate immune cells and improve the body’s resilience against stressors.
